Helicopter Spirals Out of Control into Palm Fronds at Well-Known California Beach

A chopper soaring near a crowded coastal beach abruptly started spinning out of control, eventually dropping height and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as spectators watched.

Recordings posted on social media show the helicopter starting to spin near the beach then falling towards the border of the beach, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a staircase adjacent to the shoreline route.

Rescue Operation Information

Local firefighters reported five people were taken to hospital involving two who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on that day.

Three people on the street were harmed. Specifics on their wounds were not yet released.

The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
