Hulu is Developing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest Far Cry title that players explored was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in action and madness with equal enthusiasm, all while telling captivating, politically driven narratives. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two producers whose creations have embodied all of those qualities.

Show Details

Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game series, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also parallel the video games' structure by featuring a different location and cast of characters in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series under their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what role that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the creator.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their ongoing trust and support.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone program. Every title is a take of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a story,” said Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can evolve from year to year, while always delving into the core of society through this intricate and turbulent perspective, is a dream come true. I’m eager to collaborate with Rob and introduce our mutual irreverent, daring sensibility to the television.”

A release window for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
