The Reds' recent difficulties, the Egyptian's form and a challenging match at Stamford Bridge render it simple to ignore their players and choose red-hot Erling Haaland as captain for gameweek seven.

And if you haven't already acted, consider this your cue to load up on Arsenal assets as they have the most favorable schedule of any team over the next six gameweeks.

Goalkeeper and defence

Newcastle keeper, Newcastle, keeper, £5m – Forest (home)

The Magpies boast more shutouts than any other team (four) while Forest have managed just one goal in their last four matches.

Fantasy coaches are losing faith in last season's unexpected performers.

Although they did have the most shots (22) of any side last week, it is hard to rely on them on the road to Newcastle's solid backline – only the Gunners (3.9 xGC) have a lower expected goals conceded than the Magpies' 4.6.

Marcos Senesi, Bournemouth, £4.9 million – Fulham (h)

Here are justifications to select Senesi.

• Bournemouth's defence has barely skipped a beat even after losing three key defenders in the offseason.
• It's evident he has become the top pick for defensive contribution points, with bonus points in five out of six fixtures.
• The opposition could be without an experienced striker, with Muniz and Jimenez both possibly injured.

Arsenal defender (£6.2m) and Arsenal full-back (£5.8m), Arsenal – the Hammers (h)

Home vs West Ham, Away at Fulham, Crystal Palace (h), Sunderland (a), Burnley (a).

That's a sweet sequence for Arsenal and it makes sense to select their defensive assets.

Gabriel brings his obvious goal threat to a high clean sheet probability – he was taken off before the hour mark in the cup match but that looks to have been a precaution.

Meanwhile, Timber – aside from his two-goal haul against Leeds United – has made nine key passes and produced two clear opportunities. No Gunners player has a higher tally.

Dan Burn, the Magpies, £5 million – Forest (home)

Pick the defender for the same reasons as goalkeeper Pope.

He is taking on a lacking bite Forest team and the defender has accumulated defensive contribution points in half of his games.

Midfield

Antoine Semenyo, Bournemouth, £7.8 million – Fulham (home)

First name on the teamsheet at the moment. He has only failed to return in a single fixture this season – set and forget.

Manchester United midfielder, Man Utd, £8.1m – the Black Cats (h)

The midfielder is due, that's a certainty! More shots than any different midfielder and only Antoine Semenyo has had more efforts in the box.

Couple that with the Red Devils' league-high xG and you feel a haul approaching.

Could that come against the Black Cats? They have been superb defensively and kept Nottingham Forest last week. However you still fancy the home side to score a couple at Old Trafford – their attacking threat hasn't really been the issue this season.

Arsenal winger, the Gunners, £9.8m – the Hammers (home)

Saka is a bit of a overlooked asset in fantasy after his early-season setback, but a juicy run of games for the Gunners, starting with underperforming the Hammers, means he could quickly be a highly selected choice.

The Hammers' defence was not that convincing in their opening match under Nuno Espirito Santo and definitely won't scare the Gunners.

Will Saka take penalties again from Viktor Gyokeres now that he's returned to fitness? He's a good pick even without, an outstanding choice with.

Ismaila Sarr, Crystal Palace, £6.4m – Everton (away)

On a per-start basis, Sarr has the best xG among midfielders (he ranked 7th in that statistic last season).

He's scored in three of his four starting appearances and faces an Everton side whose form have dipped in the past three games – in contrast to Palace who are 18 without defeat.

Forwards

Erling Haaland (captain), Manchester City, £14.4 million – the Bees (away)

It is difficult to leave Haaland out of your team at the moment irrespective of the fixture, but this away game to the Bees is a promising one.

The Bees have a bottom-four defensive record so far, for goals conceded and expected goals conceded. Only Burnley have conceded more shots.

Ollie Watkins, Aston Villa, £8.7 million – the Clarets (h)

Watkins is on the scoresheet finally for the campaign and so are Villa – they certainly will deliver better performances the remainder of the season than in their initial five games.

The England striker has not been great to be fair, with only 9 shots this season.

But he's facing the worst defensive unit in the division and has the pedigree of three straight seasons with at least 15 goals, so feel confident starting him.
