Patriots Match Best Winning Streak Since Tom Brady Era with Triumph Over Jets

Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson in action

First-year player TreVeyon Henderson has tallied five touchdowns in the present year

The New England Patriots equaled their longest winning run from the Brady period as they beat division rivals the New York Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout Henderson shone brightly with three TDs as the New England squad notched an eight-game winning streak for the first time since star signal-caller Brady's final season with the team in 2019

Signal-caller Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a touchdown, completing 25 passes from 34 throws

The win increases the New England's lead at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to nine wins and two defeats, with the Jets bottom after falling to a 2-8 mark

The opposing team had taken the lead at their home field with QB Fields running in a short rushing score to finish the New York's initial series

But the home team answered in the second quarter as Henderson scored two seven-yard touchdowns before the ball carrier caught a pass from Maye at the rear of the endzone midway through the third period to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a key occasion for him delivering, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," Maye commented on the rookie. "He aims to be excellent."

Fields connected with John Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Borregales kicked a two kicks in the final period as the Patriots closed out the triumph
