'Russia will not stop until they are forced to do so,' Denmark's Prime Minister warns as she inaugurates EU leaders meeting

Denmark's head of government Mette Frederiksen officially commenced the meeting while accompanied by Council President António Costa and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“In recent months, numerous discussions about Ukrainian peace have occurred, through meetings, preliminary sessions and meeting briefings, and meanwhile, Russia continues its brutal attacks.”

“This should be evident to all: Moscow won't cease until compelled.”

Frederiksen continued that “there's one crucial objective before us: Europe requires fortification to prevent military aggression, requiring urgent action.”

EU Leaders Voice Defense Concerns

Various EU officials expressed comparable defense worries amid the gathering. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy cautioned that “recent drone incidents across Europe are a clear sign that Russia still feels bold enough to escalate this war.”

Zelenskyy stressed that “should Russian forces deploy drones targeting Poland or violate the airspace of northern European countries, this suggests possible continental expansion.”

UK PM Reinforces Defense Statement

PM Starmer of the United Kingdom pointed out Moscow's continuing hostilities, observing: “Recent developments have shown Putin's determination to attack Ukraine, plus conducting operations across European nations.”

“The assaults continue unabated, and they show an appetite to continue this, necessitating full-scale resistance.”

Differing Perspectives Among European Officials

PM Orbán of Hungary offered a different perspective, asking: “Why are we afraid of Russia? The EU exceeds Russian capabilities.”

Orbán explained: “Analyze statistical information for accurate evaluation. We have more than 400 million people, Moscow's citizens total around 130 million. Look at the European GDP is big like that.”

Irish Prime Minister Cautions Against Naivety

PM Martin of Ireland noted “some unawareness in Irish society in respect of that.”

“A clear pattern is emerging, examining developments throughout recent periods, regarding unmanned aircraft violations, in terms of maritime activity around cables.”

He concluded by remarking that “Moscow exhibits no indications of conflict termination regardless of diplomatic efforts and international conferences.”
